Mike Douglas and daughter Elsie

Director Mike Douglas has been working in the exterior plastering trade for more than 25 years, after completing a trade course in building and construction at Nelson Institute of Technology.

He cut his teeth in the construction industry working as a builder and plasterer on several residential and commercial projects, including Shakespeare’s Wharf in Picton and the Otira Viaduct in Arthur’s Pass.

His vast experience working on a wide range of projects in New Zealand, Australia and the United States enables him to troubleshoot and anticipate any potential issues before starting work onsite, and develop the best solutions for each unique job.

Mike is a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) for external plastering and waterproofing systems for flat roofs and decking areas, meaning he has been assessed as competent to carry out work essential to a building’s structure or weathertightness.
